Pelagic Fishery South Central Zone

The ” Major Pelagic Fisheries Monitoring Program at Center-South Chile, V-XI regions”, in compliance with the agreements made in the Technical Reference Terms of the project “INTEGRAL ADVICE FOR DECISION MAKING IN FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE. This was delivered through a series of documents about main biological fishing indicators weekly, monthly and contingency (monitoring reproductive and biological closed season) and annual (broadcast) main resources objectives ” : horse mackerel (Trachurus murphyi), common sardine (Strangomera bentincki), anchovy (Engraulis ringens), mackerel (Scomber japonicus) Southern sardine (Sprattus fuegensis).

Weekly newsletter

Executive document of preliminary character which weekly informs about performed catches by artisanal fleet craft and industrial according to region of origin. It also includes information of main biological indicators, such as size structure and reproduction of objective resources. In addition, it incorporates detailed information of each sampling conducted on land and aboard.

Monthly newsletter

Executive document of preliminary information of fleet landing both artisanal and industrial monthly, cumulative and comparative with the same period of time in previous years (Sernapesca records). Includes a map of spatial distribution of mackerel catches and weekly TSM. In addition, it shows in graphics and a brief descriptive analysis of main indicators of structure size and reproduction for objective resources from commercial fishing and monitoring during closed season periods.

Recruitment Monitoring Newsletter

Executive document which describes the evolution of common sardine and anchovy recruitment at V to X regions and Austral Sardine in the X Region during the fixed and variable ban established by decree of the Fishing Under-Secretariat. It contains periodic information of captures, structures of size, percentage of copies under size of reference, modal, size range and copies per liter. This information is supported by commercial fishing (pre and post-ban) and independent sampling design of commercial fisheries, established and applied by IFOP in the biological ban (closed seasons).

Reproductive Monitoring Documents

Executive document which describes reproductive process evolution of common sardine and anchovy of Vth to Xth regions and austral sardine in the X Region during the fixed and variable ban established by decree by the Fishing Under-Secretariat.
