Instituto de Fomento Pesquero won Baby Football Championship at Coquimbo

The teams of Chachagua, Isla Cocha, Isla Picton, IFOP participated in the championship. The winner was IFOP Coquimbo and the second place for Cachagua. The best goalkeeper award was for Luis Diaz of IFOP; the championship scorers were Franco Aliaga of Cachagua and Enzon Malebrán of IFOP; the best goal was made by Humberto Valenzuela of Isla Picton, Fair Play Player award was Marcelo Mena of Isla Picton.

On September 8 and 9, at Gallo Sports Complex in Coquimbo, baby football championship was carried out, being organized by IFOP.

Leonardo Nunez, Executive Director of IFOP, said “all sport activity undertaken by IFOP is always important because it benefits healthy living and encourages fellowship among workers.”

Juan Tapia, scientific observer and one of the organizers of the event, said the objective is to “strengthen relations between the staff of Instituto de Fomento Pesquero and the crew of the crustaceans fishing fleet. It is important to mention also that crustacean is in a period of closure of fisheries, so, sailing are not allowed, permitting us to play sports and conserve resources. ”

Omar Yanez, field coordinator of IFOP Coquimbo added “this championship, in addition to encourage healthy living through sport, raised a spirit of camaraderie and fellowship in the companies involved, it is very important because this activity not only joined scientific observers with crews of different ships (now presented as a sports club), but allowed closer ties with fleet managers and administrative personnel belonging to fishing companies with which we interact, to perform our sampling on board vessels. “
