Ignacio Payá from IFOP, presented a paper on the application of a state space model of surplus production in continuous time, known as SPiCT. This is the first exercise that integrates catch data and abundance indices (CPUE) of the fleets that fish in SPRFMO area and in the exclusive economic zones of Chile and Peru, which corresponds to FAO’s area 87.

Peru presented the biological considerations that should be included in an evaluation model.
