Abate Molina evaluates anchovy and sardine between Regions of Valparaiso and Los Lagos

The cruise will have a total duration of 30 days.

The scientific ship Abate Molina of IFOP, set sailed on Friday, April 29 at 23:50 from the port of Valparaiso, with a total staff of 24 people, including researchers and crew, with the purpose of assess and characterizing the stock of anchovy and sardine resources, present between the V and X Regions, through the hydro acoustic method, during the period of maximum recruitment and immediate fall.

The cruise covers the areas between northern Quintero (32º40’S) and north of Caleta Mansa (40th 20’s).

The project manager and Vessel Chief is the fishing engineer, Mr. Alvaro Saavedra, and the captain of the ship is Enrique Quiero.

At the end of the scientific cruise, a technical report will be made by the expert team of IFOP.
