El lado m\u00e1s angosto tiene el septo elevado hacia el borde convexo de la concha,. Abertura circular, op\u00e9rculo c\u00f3rneo. Superficie con unos 44 a 59 anillos bajos separados por inter espacios estrechos. Color blanco amarillento con periostraco amarillo caf\u00e9. Parecido a Caecum chilense. Alcanzan tama\u00f1os de aproximadamente 2.2 mm de longitud (Forcelli, 2000).<\/p>\n<p><b>DISTRIBUCI\u00d3N<\/b><br \/>\nEn Chile, <em>Caecum subaustrale<\/em> presenta un gradiente latitudinal comprendido aproximadamente entre 35\u00b0S y 50\u00b0S (Valdovinos, 1999). La localidad original corresponde a frente a Los Vilos, Regi\u00f3n de Coquimbo, donde fue recolectada a 10 m de profundidad (Stuardo, 1970).<\/p>\n<p><b>H\u00c1BITAT<\/b><br \/>\nEspecie bent\u00f3nica marina de ambientes submareales someros, asociada a fondos de arena y conchilla.
