Un solo pliegue columelar que puede ser muy d\u00e9bil. Presenta costillas axiales notorias, sin escultura espiral (Keen, 1971).<\/p>\n<p><b>DISTRIBUCI\u00d3N<\/b><br \/>\nG\u00e9nero marino de amplia distribuci\u00f3n mundial. En Chile ha sido registrado desde Bah\u00eda Inglesa (27\u00b0S) hasta aproximadamente los 55\u00b0S, esto incluye localidades del norte y de la zona austral, como Bah\u00eda Inglesa y Fiordo Ays\u00e9n (Valdovinos, 1999; D\u00edaz et al., 2009). <\/p>\n<p><b>H\u00c1BITAT<\/b><br \/>\nG\u00e9nero marino bent\u00f3nico asociado principalmente a fondos arenosos y areno-fangosos, desde ambientes intermareales y submareales someros hasta zonas m\u00e1s profundas. Las especies de <em>Turbonilla<\/em> son generalmente ectopar\u00e1sitas de otros invertebrados bent\u00f3nicos, especialmente poliquetos y moluscos, por lo que su presencia puede estar estrechamente relacionada con la distribuci\u00f3n de sus hospedadores (Fretter, 1951; Cumming &amp; Alford, 1994).
