The importance of research and monitoring was also emphasized; education and awareness; the need for collaboration between different institutions and countries; and the generation of public policies based on scientific information. Through these types of instances, we seek to generate spaces for rapprochement and discussion between research institutions that make up the Network, as well as with other actors associated with the fishing and aquaculture sector in the region.
