{"id":26513,"date":"2023-05-19T10:54:29","date_gmt":"2023-05-19T14:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/?p=26513"},"modified":"2023-05-29T19:23:04","modified_gmt":"2023-05-29T23:23:04","slug":"director-de-ifop-llega-a-region-de-magallanes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/en\/director-de-ifop-llega-a-region-de-magallanes\/","title":{"rendered":"Director Gonzalo Pereira, arrives to Magallanes Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-1.jpeg\" rel=\"ptaarenas\" rel=\"26513\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-26515 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-1-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-1-150x113.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-1.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-1-160x120.jpeg 160w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Gonzalo Pereira Puchy traveled to the area to meet with local authorities and IFOP workers, on the occasion he spoke with them about changes that are being made in IFOP in different areas associated with human resources, administration and finance (for example , gender equity, remuneration, salary bands, among others).<\/p>\n<p>The Director was accompanied by a team of IFOP professionals, Dr. Daniela Diaz, in charge of cooperation and international affairs, Dr. Renzo Tascheri, a researcher from IFOP Resource Evaluation Department, and  Erik Daza,head of the IFOP Magallanes headquarters. <\/p>\n<p>Regarding their work schedulea,  IFOP Director  expressed &#8220;it gave us the possibility of verifying that IFOP is a recognized, positioned and highly valued institution in Magallanes, which in turn opens up real possibilities for us to substantially increase collaboration with similar institutes&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In the meeting with the Governor, Dr. Jorge Flies A\u00f1on, the authority indicated that IFOP will have his support, in the efforts to be able to have its own facilities in the region, he indicated that it would be good to make a joint effort with Sernapesca and CEQUA so that the three institutions have their own physical space. IFOP Director explained to the Governor the interest of the Fisheries Development Institute (IFOP) in being able to access regional public funds earmarked for research.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-3.jpeg\" rel=\"ptaarenas\" rel=\"26513\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-26516 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-3-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-3-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-3-150x113.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-3.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/punta-arenas-3-160x120.jpeg 160w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>IFOP highest authority , held a working meeting with Dr. Marcelo Leppe, Chilean Antarctic Institute Director (INACH) and other professionals from the same institution,  Andr\u00e9s L\u00f3pez Technical Deputy Director, Francisco Santa Cruz and Dr. Cesar C\u00e1rdenas , both researchers from the Scientific Department and the latter Chilean representative  of Antarctic Marine Living Resources Conservation Commission Scientific Committee &#8211; CCAMLR, and talked about strengthening the collaboration between both institutions on Antarctic issues, as well as  resources stock assessment  and the possibility that INACH can organize a course for IFOP scientific observers, both institutions will begin to work on a collaboration agreement, they also discussed INACH and IFOP participation  in CCAMLR scientific committees.
