{"id":19317,"date":"2018-10-18T08:58:14","date_gmt":"2018-10-18T12:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/?p=19317"},"modified":"2018-10-21T21:53:15","modified_gmt":"2018-10-22T01:53:15","slug":"ifop-realiza-pruebas-de-su-boya-oceanografica-para-el-estudio-del-cambio-climatico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/en\/ifop-realiza-pruebas-de-su-boya-oceanografica-para-el-estudio-del-cambio-climatico\/","title":{"rendered":"IFOP tests oceanographic buoy for climatic change research"},"content":{"rendered":"<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/boya-grupal.jpg\" rel=\"19317\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-19318 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/boya-grupal-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>This buoy and its sensors was financed by CORFO and had a cost of 80 million pesos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IFOP  Fisheries Development Institute Environment and Oceanography Department  together with  INDUCIEN company carried out buoyancy tests at  Valpara\u00edso\u2019s Baron quay  an oceanographic buoy destined to generate environmental coastal data in  Iquique\u2019s area.<\/p>\n<p>This buoy, called &#8220;Josefina I&#8221; will deliver online parameters such as Temperature, Salinity, Oxygen and Ph that will be available on the IFOP page for the entire community.<\/p>\n<p>The institute will use this information for Pacific coast hydrodynamic models  calibration  as well as to analyze Climatic Change  effect  and  El Ni\u00f1o \/ La Ni\u00f1a Phenomenon in  habitats where pelagic fish such as anchoveta have their spawning areas  .<\/p>\n<p>After its installation, this initiative will be replicated along the coast in Biological Points of Interest such as spawning areas, stranding areas and reproduction of marine species considered natural resources and that may be affected by these short and long-term climatic events.<\/p>\n<p>This buoy and its sensors was financed by CORFO and had a cost of 80 million pesos and at the moment it is in the process of requesting  marine concession of the place where it will be anchored in the coming months.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This buoy and its sensors was financed by CORFO and had a cost of 80 million pesos IFOP Fisheries Development Institute Environment and Oceanography Department together with INDUCIEN company carried out buoyancy tests at Valpara\u00edso\u2019s Baron quay an oceanographic buoy destined to generate environmental coastal data in Iquique\u2019s area.
