{"id":1133,"date":"2011-03-25T15:08:08","date_gmt":"2011-03-25T15:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"\/?page_id=1133"},"modified":"2025-08-24T23:24:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T03:24:20","slug":"departamento-de-salud-hidrobiologica-dsh","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/en\/nuestro-que-hacer\/investigacion-en-acuicultura\/departamento-de-salud-hidrobiologica-dsh\/","title":{"rendered":"Hydrobiological Health Department"},"content":{"rendered":"<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4227 alignnone\" title=\"Equipo_DSH\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ifop.cl\/wp-content\/contenidos\/uploads\/Equipo_DSH1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"262\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Hydrobiological Health Department was established in IFOP as a way to face the new challenges product of Chile\u00b4s great development in aquaculture and as a way to preserve the health heritage.<\/p>\n<p>This unit is formed by a multidisciplinary group of professionals and technicians, including Veterinarians, Marine Biologists, Biochemists, Microbiologists, and Aquaculture technicians, amongst others.<\/p>\n<p>The departments applied research is carried out along with a public and strategic role, through the following research lines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determine actions necessary to prevent, control, and eventually eradicate diseases in aquatic species.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct studies on issues of identification of pathogens and their impacts.<\/li>\n<li>Assess and develop new therapeutic approaches and conduct applied studies to support the protection of the health, genetic heritage and biodiversity.<\/li>\n<li>Develop approaches to the study of epidemiological factors and areas, and their dynamics in time and space.<\/li>\n<li>Generate relevant information for decision making on the authorization and regulation of the use of drugs and vaccines, as well as other elements that may eventually enter the aquatic environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview The Hydrobiological Health Department was established in IFOP as a way to face the new challenges product of Chile\u00b4s great development in aquaculture and as a way to preserve the health heritage.
